About Victoria Brazil

I’m an emergency physician, educator and simulation leader. My work connects healthcare simulation with the practical challenges of clinical care: how teams collaborate, how systems function, and how we can improve both.
I’m Professor of Emergency Medicine at Bond University and Director of the Bond Translational Simulation Collaborative. I also co-produce the Simulcast podcast and serve as a Senior Editor of Advances in Simulation.

Clinical care and teamwork

My experience includes emergency medicine at Gold Coast Health and the Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital, directing the Gold Coast Health Simulation Service, and leading work on high performance teamwork.

Health Professions Education

I have supervised more than 30 medical education and simulation fellows . My qualifications include a PhD, MBA and Fellowship of the Australasian College for Emergency Medicine.

Clinical Governance

I serve on the Board of the Darling Downs Hospital and Health Service, including membership of the Board Executive, Quality and Safety and Audit and Risk subcommittees.

This website brings together the work I care about: translational simulation, research, talks, podcast conversations, and the things I’m reading and thinking about.
My contributions to simulation and education have been recognised with the Ray Page Lifetime Achievement Award from Simulation Australasia and a Presidential Citation from the Society for Simulation in Healthcare.
